which are applied in a greater thickness than spray applied surfaces and then
troweled, finished and/or tooled to give the appearance of natural stone or tile.
They are then stained and sealed to give an aged and natural look. These finishes
are very durable and easy to maintain.
The overlayment product consists of a mixture of liquid resin, formulated of
100% acrylic resins and additives that enhance the durability, adhesion and performance
of cement based materials. When used in place of water (normally added to cement
based materials), the resin modifies the material by providing better bonding
and strength characteristics. The resin is designed to be used in conjunction
with a specially formulated concrete powder to create unlimited designs in overlayments.
This product is applied over the substrate using trowels or gauge rakes to
allow for an application with enough body to receive stencils, molds or other
inserts which are "stamped" into the finish. This also allows for tooling
the finish to create grout lines and other designs.
Next the overlayment is stained to give the appearance of natural stone using
various different methods of coloration including acid or water borne stains,
colored acrylic sealants, etc. Finally it is sealed using a clear concrete sealer.
This unique blend of 100% acrylic resins which is quick drying, durable and cleans
easily with water is ideal for both residential and commercial use on pool decks,
patios, walkways and driveways. The sealer resists water, UV light damage, household
chemicals and hot tire pick-up.
